prayer for my sister
I don't want to go into the gory details here but would appreciate prayer for my sister and her daughters. She and my bil told the girls today that they have filed for divorce. Obviously, they are devastated. My heart is broken for them and especially on days such as this one, I long for Heaven.

I will pray for your family, too. This very thing happened in my family, as well. My nephew and his wife split up. They have one daughter who is seven and two twin girls who are four years old. I helped babysit the twins when they were babies, and am very close to my nephew, so I took this extremely hard.
If there is any way you can show your support for the children, by all means jump at the chance. When the split happened in my family, my nephew had to move to an apartment, and the three girls had to share a rather stark white and undecorated bedroom. So my sister and I went over and made it a real girly room for them (lots of PINK) and bought the girls blankets, new clothes, PJ's, books, pencils, paper, crayons and so much more . And hopefully, for a moment in time, they forgot their sorrow.
Do all you can, it is so important. I know you will.
I'm praying.

Thanks for the suggestions, Cat. I'm at least 1000 miles away right now and I'm as involved as one can be considering the distance. The girls are older, one is middle school and the other high school. I got a text last night that things had calmed down, I had told her the initial shock would be rough. Emotions were high and things would calm down. These kids have never had a normal family life but what they have is the only thing they know so it still rocked their world. My sister is planning to move here so she can have family support, pls pray that hearts would not be hardened and that she will be able to do so.

Sorry I've been so quiet, things have become crazy busy here. My sister and her girls will be here next week for a few days to look for housing, register for school, etc. Would appreciate your prayers that she would find a great place to live in her budget.
A HUGE praise -- it looks like she was able to get her girls in the same school that my daughter attends. The school is full and has a waiting list but because they are "family" and my family is established at the school, they took the hardship she is going through into consideration. They have one spot available in the whole high school and it is in the same grade that my niece will be in. The middle school is completely filled but they are making room for my younger niece. You have no idea what an answer to prayer this is. Now we are working on how she will pay the tuition but another praise -- this private, Christian school is very economical as well as a great college prep school. Both of her children's tuition will be less than what she was paying for one child previously. Next year she can apply for financial aid.
She plans to move here the first week of August, so there is still much to work out and do (like packing, tying up legal ends, etc) and your prayers are appreciated.

Sorry I haven't been around, thanks for praying. My sister leased a townhome and was able to get all of the business accomplished that she needed to do while here. I started feeling poorly on Friday but I chalked it up to exhaustion due to my other health issues. By Sunday evening, my arm was very sore and I looked in the mirror to find a lump the size of a golfball near my armpit. By Monday morning it was the size of a tennis ball and extremely painful. A trip to the ER, I have an infection in a lymph node. I just cannot tell you how incredibly painful this is, plus a fever which comes with body/joint aches, headache, etc. I'm able to do little more than sleep as long as I take the pain meds...but if they wear off...OUCH does not do it justice. I have a check up tomorrow morning and I may have to have IV antibiotics. Anyhoo, I'm just out of it right now.

Fortunately, it is a strain that is "sensitive" to antibiotics and I can be treated at home. She gave me a stronger anti-biotic. Had it been resistant I would have gone straight to jail, er-I mean admitted into the hospital. I'm hoping to see more improvement in a day or so.

Quick update: Had staph infection (NOT MRSA, PTL!) but ended up in the ER, a very painful but minor procedure and more antibiotics. This has been very scary as it "blossomed" in just a few hours and I had been back and forth to the dr several times. I seem to be on the mend now and starting to feel "normal", whatever that is!
I was in bed for an entire week, the arm was just terribly painful plus I had symptoms like a very bad case of flu on top of it. Post-procedure was just a lot of pain for three days.
Now we are in busy season, school starts for my daughter in about 10 days, my sister will be moving here in less than two wks (my mother will be here next weekend to help me clean/prepare my sister's place for move-in), my son will come home from his summer job in New England, take my son back to college. Whew.

Wow, sister... I will continue praying. I wish there was something more I could do to help.
