This guy seems to have a better grasp of Christianity than many pastors and believers.

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

"God is too holy to not do what brings Him the greatest glory and loves you too much not to do what brings you the greatest good".
J. McClarty

"I know who I am, I know where I came from and I know where I am going".

Something similar to what Penn from Penn and Teller has said, and I'd agree with the majority of what he said, although I would replace the word 'respect' with 'understand', when he says the he respects those Christians who take the bible literally and attempt to spread it.

This is Penn on getting a NT as a gift:
"If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe."
"It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. "

He is right on a lot of things, Mr Penn, I hope he has read that bible.
"After all, there is a Protestantism still worth contending for, there is a Calvinism still worth proclaiming, and a gospel well worth dying for" - C H Spurgeon

"As we are knit to Christ by faith, so we must be knit to the communion of saints by love" - R Sibbes

Concerning the second video, nothing really shocking there. Just from what he said, it is pretty apparent that he never believed, just going through the motions. It is sad that his youth pastor was more into entertaining and being "cool", rather than giving solid teaching and have an answer for his objections. His objections and problems with the Scriptures are really nothing new, heard them before. Just because someone reads the bible, it doesn't mean they will "get it", as he has demonstrated. I can read a book on quantum physics and not "get it", even though I read it cover to cover.
He also mentioned seeking out other material, namely, Bertrand Russell, an avowed atheist. I wonder if he bothered to look into books by Luther, Calvin, Knox, Edwards, Spurgeon, McArthur or Sproal? It seems he was seeking out material and people who would confirm and comfort him in his unbelief, rather than challenge it.
It is not too late for Mr.Gillette, God can still call him to salvation, change his heart, open his eyes, give him life. But he has heard the message, he has no excuses. No one except God can pull him away from that on coming truck called judgment.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

"God is too holy to not do what brings Him the greatest glory and loves you too much not to do what brings you the greatest good".

And that is really the point isn't it, without the Holy Spirit the word's life giving power remains hidden, the natural man just doesn't get it!

I've found it interesting lately that fellow Christians, when discussing a lost loved-one, will affirm the same thing RB. "He is a natural man so just doesn't get it!" Yet they never notice the elephant in the room do they? They never askt he obvious question, "How did I come to 'get it' being once, myself, a natural man?"
"What God requires of us he himself works in us, or it is not done. He that commands faith, holiness, and love, creates them by the power of his grace..." - Matthew Henry

Concerning the natural man, although their worldly wisdon is a rebuke to the Christian and I think that is one reason God allows them to see so much yet not really see. The Bible describes them as "blind" and "deaf" and "dead".
We may marvel at their "wisdom", but fail ourselves to see the great miracle of the new birth within ourselves.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
(1 Corinthians 1:20)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
(Proverbs 9:10)
